Our veterinarians perform spays and neuters for dogs and cats. A spay or neuter is a surgery that removes the reproductive organs from your pet. Spay is the term used for female pets and neuter is for male pets. Both procedures are routine but can become complicated if your female pet is in heat or your male pet’s testicle(s) has not moved to his scrotum. While considered routine, these are still surgical procedures that require the use of anesthesia. It is important to have a competent veterinary staff perform the operation.
There are many different opinions on whether or not to spay or neuter. We recommend it for all family pets unless you are planning on breeding them. Spaying or neutering your pet helps control pet overpopulation. Call us for more information.
